What is the Inflation Reduction Act?

The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was introduced into U.S. legislation to reduce inflation and fight climate change by supporting clean energy projects, while bolstering American manufacturing. Homeowners and businesses can unlock financial incentives under the IRA, by claiming a 30% Investment Tax Credit (ITC), for using renewable energy such as solar panels. If your project qualifies for the ITC, you can reduce your tax bill by 30% of the total installation cost. There are additional tax bonus credits available for domestically manufactured products, as well as solar installations in energy communities and low income areas. Please consult your tax advisor for guidance and refer to the official White House Inflation Reduction Act Guidebook for more information.
